For vehicles that are not approved under EC law, the mirror surface must be at least 60 cm².
An E-mark is not necessary.
Mirrors without an E-mark and with a mirror surface smaller than 60cm2 are not permitted within the scope of the StVO. These are only to be used for show and racing purposes.
Vehicles that are approved according to EC law (usually from 01.10.15, EC entry number K) must have mirrors with an E-mark.
