Winterizing Your Motorcycle
❄️ Winterizing Your Motorcycle – Keep It in Top Shape
When the riding season ends and temperatures drop, it's time to put your bike into hibernation. With just a few smart steps, you’ll prevent rust, battery damage, and rough starts come spring.
Winter Storage Checklist
- Disconnect the battery and store it indoors – ideally on a trickle charger.
- Fill the fuel tank (for metal tanks) – prevents internal rust. Add fuel stabilizer if needed.
- Clean the bike thoroughly – including chain, wheels, and underside.
- Lubricate the chain – ideally while it’s still warm after a short ride.
- Increase tire pressure slightly (0.2–0.5 bar above normal) or use paddock stands.
- Protect fork, paint & plastics – with silicone spray or wax.
- Cover the bike – only with a breathable motorcycle cover.
Where to Store It
The best place is a dry, ventilated garage. If that’s not possible, invest in a high-quality bike cover with UV and moisture protection.
Our Recommendations
- Smart battery chargers with maintenance mode
- Long-lasting chain spray
- Motorcycle cleaner & wax
